Of course, it didn’t take long for the smooth roads ahead to be nothing but bumper-to-bumper lineups. What else could he have expected though with the Los Angeles traffic? High noon and a weekend? Jason growled in frustration and kicked the back of Daniel’s seat with his knee, his wounded leg hitting painfully against the chair and causing him to recoil in pain.
“You’re a fucking idiot.” He heard Jesse remark with a ‘tsk’.
“Seriously though! We’re going to be eighty-five by the time we smell ocean.”
At this point Ethan began to catch Jason’s wavering tones; sensing something off with how uncomfortable he acted. It was only a simple traffic wait after all. Even if it took a couple hours the group had nothing to do and no responsibilities to keep in check so his rushed attitude definitely seemed out of place.
Jason jumped once more, feeling his phone vibrate again causing Ethan to narrowed his eyes as he followed up on his strange behaviors.
“Listen, Jason, you need to relax. It’s only a jam. We have time to kill…”
“You don’t understand I--”
His voice cut when he gazed down at his new message, foreboding creeping painfully in his stomach. What the fuck could he mean by his friends were in danger? The teen decided to, hesitantly, text back. Of course still remaining as painfully vague as possible.
‘I’m in a car. What the fuck is going on? Are you threatening my friends or some shit? Like, why are you so obsessed about where I am? I told you I’m not doing crazy gang shit for you today!'
“I’m fine…” Jason muttered, finally finishing his sentence.
He decided to focus on his leg to avoid any more weird stares from his friends. More blood began to seep through the bandage causing him to worry even further.
