Description and Effects
Atrohpia Contritio (Latin meaning: Destructive atrophy) is a parasitic organism in nature. Specifically created with the intent to gain the ability to control completely and harvest its use as a biological weapon transferable via contact, bodily fluids, and consumption of live/recently deceased infected animal.
Upon infection the parasite takes a variety of incubation periods while it travels to the host’s brain. When it gets to the brain it “plugs” into the host’s cells to begin injecting its own genetic code. It enters, renters, and duplicates these changed cells. Eventually it matures and develops itself into a cancerous like growth and begins to attack and attach itself to the host’s nervous system and higher brain functions until it gains complete control of the host. When control is gained it will desperately try to spread itself to other hosts as was programmed to do.
Symptoms of early infected process include:
-Irritability
-Sleeplessness
-Aches and pains
-A feeling of intense weakness
-Nausea and vomiting
-Extreme rage further into the process
-Random bursts of violence
-Loss of basic motor functions
After complete control over the host’s body the Atrophia not only has the ability to tap into just basic motor functions, but advanced as well. Fully infected hosts have the ability to walk, run, and even climb, however jumping and sprinting have yet to be observed.
There has yet to be an immune experiment to this date.
Incubation Periods
The incubation period within a live host varies from body to body. The average recorded time within the labs has ranged between 1-24 hours before first signs of symptoms are present. The longest recorded time shown has been around 3 days.
Once the symptoms are present it takes an additional 3-4 hours for the parasite to completely engulf the host's brain and nervous system. At this point the host is no longer in control of their own actions and is controlled completely by the Atrophia Contritio.
Theoretically, the host cannot support the parasite indefinitely and will eventually die, thus in turn causing the Atrophia to do the same. No test subjects have lived naturally long enough to prove theory, however.
Life Span
Within the body of a live host the life span of the parasite is to be determined. However, without a food source the host will parish within two weeks along with the parasite not too long after, as stated previously.
Part of the unique construction of Atrophia Contritio includes the fact that its failsafe prevents it from living outside a human host. The result of several tests prove that any other animal infected by the parasite dies as a result of their body rejecting it completely. The parasite has a life span of about 4 hours inside a dead host.
Notable Cure
A definite cure for Atrophia Contritio has yet to be fully developed, however vaccinations and prevention serums are in affect and should be distributed if needed to the general public. Risk factors are extremely high as they have yet to be tested on infected humans. More research upon cure needs to happen before test date is set.

Experimentation Atrophia Contritio has been approved for field testing for 2014. Have the most recent host ready for deployment on given date and vaccinations finished and finalized. Faliure to meet these protocols will result in the field testing to be terminated immidiately. The location for operation Puppet Plague: Auberry, California. It will be quarntined and blocked off in preparation.
